BookFest 2026: Big 20 Finale Lucky Draw

Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions (“T&Cs”), and all subsequent revisions or amendments thereafter made by Popluar Book Co Pte Ltd (“POPULAR”), without prior notice, shall apply to “Big 20 Finale” Lucky Draw. By participating in the Lucky Draw, each Participant agrees to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.

 

1. Eligibility


  • Subject to the T&Cs, each team may comprise a maximum of two (2) participants, with at least one (1) participant aged 18 years and above.
  • Participants below 18 years of age must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • POPULAR shall be entitled to request proof of such written consent at any time. Failure to provide proof of written consent upon request shall disqualify the Participant from the Lucky Draws.
  • Participant must have an active POPULAR SG App account at the point of participation.
  • The following persons are not eligible to participate in the Lucky Draws:
    • Employees of POPULAR and their immediate family members and/ or relatives living in the same household.
    • Vendors, contractors or partners or any other individuals directly involved or connected to the Lucky Draw including their affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, directors and immediate family members and/or relatives living in the same household.
    • Individuals who do not reside in Singapore. 
  • Any Participant(s) who fails to provide true, correct and accurate information when participating in the Lucky Draw shall be disqualified.
  • POPULAR reserves the right to reclaim any prizes awarded to a Participant subsequently found to have provided false, misleading or inaccurate information.

 

2. Lucky Draw Details 


  • The Lucky Draw will run from 13 to 19 November 2026 at all POPULAR Bookstores.
  • Participants will receive one (1) lucky draw chance with a minimum nett spend of $80 in a single transaction, with each eligible transaction entitled to only one (1) chance, regardless of the total amount spent.

 

3. Conduct and Announcement of Draw


3.1. Preliminary Draw

  • A preliminary draw will be conducted at POPULAR HQ on 20 November 2026 to select twenty (20) shortlisted winners from all eligible entries received during the qualifying period.
  • POPULAR will notify shortlisted winners via SMS and email.
  • Shortlisted winners must respond within the stipulated timeframe using the contact details provided in the notification; failing which, they will be deemed to have forfeited their prize, and the Organiser reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

3.2. Live Draw

  • The twenty (20) shortlisted winners must attend the live draw at POPULAR Bras Basah Complex on 22 November 2026 at 3:30PM to determine the Grand Prize winner of $2,000 worth of Cash and Gift Vouchers.
  • The Shopping Spree prize draw for the remaining nineteen (19) winners will also take place on the same day.

 

4. Prize Details and Conditions


4.1. Grand Prize (1 Winner)

  • The Grand Prize winner will receive a total of $2,000, comprising $1,000 in cash and $1,000 in POPULAR Gift Vouchers.

 

4.2. Shopping Spree Prize (19 Winners)

  • Each Shopping Spree winner may participate in the shopping spree with a maximum of two (2) persons per team, comprising at least one (1) adult aged 18 years and above.
  • Child participant must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • Closed-toe shoes are required for all participants.
  • Running, climbing or other disruptive behaviour(s) is not allowed and may result in disqualification.
  • Each team will be given a strict time limit of ten (10) minutes to complete the shopping spree, commencing from the start signal and ending at the final signal. No extension of time will be permitted.
  • Each team is entitled to use one (1) standard shopping basket. All selected items must fit entirely within the basket at the end of the shopping spree. Items that do not fit fully inside the basket will not be eligible for the prize.
  • The shopping spree prize is capped at a maximum value of $350. Should the total value of the selected eligible items exceed $350, the winner may choose to remove items to bring the total within the prize limit or pay the excess amount for the additional items. Any unutilised balance will be forfeited and cannot be exchanged for cash or other forms of compensation.
  • Gadgets & IT products are excluded from the shopping spree and shall not be counted towards the prize value.
  • Prizes are not eligible for exchange or refund after checkout.

 

5. Participation 

 

  • By participating in the Lucky Draw, Participants acknowledge that POPULAR will collect, use and process the personal data provided for event registration, administration, participant communication and other purposes stated in POPULAR's applicable Personal Data Protection Policy.
  • POPULAR reserves the right to use, display, reproduce, publish, adapt, and/or modify the pictures and photographs of the Participants taken in relation to or in connection with or arising from the Lucky Draws, for publicity, advertising and promotional purposes, including but not limited to that of the Lucky Draws’, in any manner that POPULAR deems appropriate.

 

6. General

 

  • POPULAR shall not be responsible in any manner whatsoever for any consequence including but not limited to loss of life, injury to person and/or loss or damage to property arising from or in connection with the Lucky Draw, redemption or use of any Prize, arising from or in connection with any Prize, or howsoever arising.
  • POPULAR assumes no liability or responsibility for the acts or defects in the goods or services offered in this Lucky Draw.
  • POPULAR will not be responsible for any injury, loss or damage suffered as a result of the redemption or usage of the goods and services or in connection with the Lucky Draw and/or redemption or use of any Prize.
  • The decisions of POPULAR on all matters relating to the Lucky Draw and any Prize are final, conclusive and binding.
  • POPULAR shall not be obliged to give any reason or enter into any correspondence with any person on any matter concerning the Lucky Draw or any Prize.
  • Notwithstanding anything in these Terms and Conditions, POPULAR reserves the right at any time in its absolute discretion to determine and/or amend, by addition to, subtraction from or variation of, these Terms and Conditions without prior notification, including but not limited to the eligibility terms and criteria, the selection of winners, and the timing of any act to be done, and all Participants shall be bound by these amendments.
  • The T&Cs shall be governed by the laws of Singapore. The T&Cs shall constitute the entire understanding and agreement between POPULAR and the Participants.
  • A person who is not a party to the Agreement shall have no right to enforce or enjoy the benefit of any term of this Agreement under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Chapter 53B).
  • The illegality, invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of this Agreement under the law of any jurisdiction shall not affect its legality, validity or enforceability under the law of any other jurisdiction nor the legality, validity or enforceability of any other provision.
  • In the event of any inconsistency between these T&Cs and any brochure, marketing or promotional material relating to the Contests Period, Lucky Draws, these T&Cs will prevail.
