About The Author

Jon Lock is a writer and game designer with over 15 years’ experience creating independent comics and games. He is best known as the creator of Afterlife Inc. and co-founder of Big Punch Studios, alongside frequent collaborator Nich Angell.

Jon has written and edited numerous self-published titles, including Cuckoos, Orb, and 99 Swords. He is also the co-creator of the hit card game Sandwich Masters. Outside of Big Punch Studios, Jon has written comics for 2000AD Magazine and video games for clients such as LEGO, Retroware, and Nicalis. He also wrote the Toxic Crusaders video game, based on the Toxic Avenger film franchise.

In 2023, Jon received a National Lottery Project Grant to produce an original graphic novel and deliver free comic-making workshops for 8-11 year olds in deprived areas of Gloucester.

Nich Angell

Nich Angell is an illustrator, cartoonist, and tabletop game designer with over 15 years of experience creating comics, games, and vibrant worlds and characters.

In addition to his personal projects, Nich has produced children’s comics for clients such as Titan Magazines, working on titles like GoGos Crazy Bones and Hot Wheels, and has created character designs for Nickelodeon. Nich is the co-founder of Big Punch Studios with long-time collaborator Jon Lock, and they have worked as a writer/artist team on many comics and games. He also co-designed and illustrated the hit card game Sandwich Masters.

Nich is the creator of the independent comics 7STRING and Cat and Meringue, and the award-winning solo role-playing game Colostle (Best Rules - The Ennies 2022). He enjoys trading cards and retro video games, and spends most of his time drawing and laughing.
